This massage is well suited for those who want to increase mobility, reduce muscle tension and improve the functioning of the body. It is especially useful for active people, athletes, or for those who experience stiffness and limited movement in muscles and joints.

About the treatment

A powerful treatment for those who want deeper effect and functional improvement. Performance massage combines three techniques: functional massage, stretching and deep tissue massage. The goal is to improve mobility, reduce muscle tension and increase flexibility, while also working on deeper body structures to dissolve limitations in the tissues.

Before the treatment

Read through the contraindications for massage and consider whether this is the right treatment for you.

We recommend that you are in general good shape and do not have acute injuries or medical conditions that require other treatment.

We recommend that you wear sports shorts when treating with a focus on lower body and plain bra or sports bra when treating with a focus on torso. This is to ensure both comfort and optimal access for the therapist's work. It should be 12-24 hour break between hard physical exercise and massage, to give the musculature time to recover and avoid overloading. This provides a better effect of the treatment and reduces the risk of discomfort or aggravation of muscular irritation.

Bring a water bottle — hydration is important both before and after the massage.

During the treatment

The treatment is a combination of active and dynamic techniques — you will be guided through different treatment positions and movements, while working with calm, deep techniques from classic deep tissue massage. The goal is to challenge the body functionally and at the same time provide deep relaxation. We combine functional massage, stretching and deep tissue techniques to dissolve tensions and increase functionality.

The treatment is performed without oil, and with a focus on deeper structures of the musculature and connective tissue. Communication is important -- let me know if something feels uncomfortable or too intense.

After the treatment

You can feel both lighter and more moving -- but also a little tender, especially if we've worked deep. Be sure to keep moving, drink water and give the body time to recover. Many people experience the best results after several treatments — consider making a new appointment within 1—2 weeks.
